What Our Name Means

Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies

SIIT was created in 1976 by First Nation leaders to carry out the vision and needs of their communities. Not a government initiative — a community one. Every program, service, and innovation space flows from that original mandate: education shaped by the people it's meant to serve.

The Innovation Collective

In 2021, SIIT launched Saskatchewan's first Indigenous Innovation Accelerator — funded by the federal government and built around culture, language, kinship, and connection.

The MakerLodge, non-repayable MicroGrants for Indigenous entrepreneurs, the Miyoskamin entrepreneurship certificate, youth innovation camps, and the Go Where Eagles Dare international mobility program.
