Innovation & Partnerships

Built Together.
With the Right Partners.

SIIT doesn't build in isolation. The institutions, incubators, and networks we work with share a commitment to Indigenous-led growth — and together we reach further than any of us can alone.

"Partnership is at the heart of what SIIT does. With the generous support from so many public and private sector, and government partners, SIIT is able to continue building capacity and empowering Indigenous peoples as they contribute to the economic growth of their communities and share their gifts and teachings with the world." — Riel Bellegarde, President & CEO, SIIT

Key Partners in the Indigenous Innovation Ecosystem

These organizations share SIIT's belief that Indigenous communities have always been innovators — and that building the right support structures changes what's possible.

FlintHub

Indigenous Entrepreneurship Incubator

FlintHub is where Indigenous knowledge, innovation, and entrepreneurship come together. Rooted in relationship and reciprocity, FlintHub creates space for Indigenous leaders to design solutions, build businesses, and lead systems change — on their own terms.

FlintHub runs two core pathways: an Online Entrepreneurship Incubator open to Indigenous entrepreneurs at any stage, and an accredited Diploma in Indigenous Entrepreneurship in partnership with the University of Waterloo — offering university credentials grounded in Indigenous business principles.

The synergy with SIIT's pawâcikêwikamik accelerator is direct: both programs develop Indigenous entrepreneurs, both ground their work in Indigenous knowledge and community values, and both are building the infrastructure that Saskatchewan and Manitoba's next generation of Indigenous business leaders need.

Social Enterprise Exchange (SEE)

Social Enterprise Network

The Social Enterprise Exchange supports businesses that exist to serve their communities — not just their shareholders. Social enterprise is a natural fit for Indigenous entrepreneurs: business models that reinvest in communities, create jobs for community members, and measure success beyond profit.

SIIT's connection to the SEE network extends the reach of the pawâcikêwikamik accelerator and opens doors for SIIT entrepreneurs to access a broader ecosystem of advisors, funding, and peer learning — all aligned to values that put people and community at the centre.

Red River College Polytechnic (RRC)

Post-Secondary Partner · Winnipeg, MB

Red River College Polytechnic is Manitoba's largest polytechnic, with campuses in Winnipeg and throughout the province. RRC has a dedicated Indigenous Education division offering programs, student supports, and pathways specifically designed for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit learners.

RRC and SIIT both occupy the same space: post-secondary institutions committed to practical, credential-granting education for Indigenous learners. The connection between them strengthens cross-provincial pathways — students, employers, and communities across the Prairies benefit when these institutions share knowledge, program models, and networks.

RRC's Exchange District Campus in Winnipeg is also home to Manitoba Innovates — connecting SIIT's innovation work to a broader prairie network of technology and innovation programming.

Manitoba Innovates

Innovation Funder · Winnipeg, MB

Manitoba Innovates is the province of Manitoba's primary innovation agency, funding research, technology commercialization, and entrepreneurship across the province. They have dedicated programming and space for Indigenous innovators — including physical space in Winnipeg through the RRC Polytech Exchange District campus network.

For SIIT entrepreneurs — especially those in the pawâcikêwikamik accelerator — Manitoba Innovates represents a pathway to commercialization funding and cross-provincial networks. The connection extends the geographic reach of SIIT's innovation ecosystem from Saskatchewan into Manitoba's capital.
